Community and Professional Education ProgramsCommunity and Professional Education Programs provide speakers, workshops and in-service programs to increase awareness and acceptance of epilepsy. Programs are also available regarding early recognition of seizures, and access to treatment and support services. Each spring the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona hosts a seminar in a smaller community in Arizona. Seminars have been held in Prescott, Flagstaff and Yuma. Each November the annual Epilepsy Update is held in Phoenix or Tucson. This program offers C.M.E. credits for doctors. The program is held in conjunction with our annual patient conference. Epilepsy 101 is a two-hour course offering basic information about epilepsy. This program is ideal for newly-diagnosed patients and their families as well as those working with people with epilepsy. School Alert provides speakers, videos and other materials to educate students and school personnel about epilepsy. |
