SUMMARY:
Coordinates and manages assigned programs and projects for the Foundation under the direction of the Sr. Director of Education. Implements best practices for public health education program development, implementation, evaluation and replication. Provides technical assistance to affiliate network to support successful implementation of epilepsy education programs in local communities. Establishes and maintains strategic national partnerships to support program recognition, expansion and collaborations. Conducts national conference presentations with Director of Education to create professional awareness of programs and promote the work of the Foundation and mission.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provides day to day contractor/consultant over-sight as needed for supporting activities to meet program development, implementation and evaluation objectives.
- Creates tools and resources to support technical assistance for affiliates.
- Provides hands on technical assistance to affiliates through site visits and conference calls.
- Maintains a comprehensive scope and sequence work plan for each project under their leadership, updating work plans on a monthly basis and reporting to the Director any variables in the work plan or project budgets.
- Conducts national and local outreach through presentations and conference workshops with the Director of Education to promote assigned programs and initiatives.
- Coordinates conference presentations and national partnerships to support program outreach and expansion.
- Stays abreast of the latest research, literature, and issues related to assigned initiatives, projects and audiences.
- Monitors affiliate program delivery through the development and implementation of reporting procedures, site visits and conference calls.
- Serves as primary liaison and coordinator for all assigned workshops/trainings/advisory committees outlined in the program or initiative scope of work
- Interfacing with the affiliate network to provide training, coordination, and monitoring of programs related to the CDC Cooperative Agreement and corporate sponsor agreements.
- Collects and analyzes data and generates reports for projects as needed to assess success, challenges and future activities.
- Report and proposal writing, budget development and mentoring
- Developing systems/databases etc. to implement activities
- Coordinating workflow activities with other internal departments
- Collaborating with outside consultants to implement activities as needed, by initialing an RFP and review process, monitoring and evaluating their progress and results.
- Developing materials and curricula for training of various groups on topics related to the targeted populations.
- Performing related work as required.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBLITIES:
The Program Manager has no supervisory responsibility.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in public health preferred. Masters degree in communications, education or health service area considered.
- At least five years of experience working in the public health or education arena, in a not for profit service based organizations, or other relevant work experience which contributes to this position.

- Social marketing theory related to diverse audiences
- Effective principals and practices of program management and program administration
- Microsoft Office,Internet, Intranet, Microsoft Project, and general database knowledge.

- Write clearly and concisely
- Communicate and work effectively with a variety of people including service providers, individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds and those with disabilities
- Work independently on a variety of diverse tasks with minimal supervision simultaneously
- Travel as needed to support programs
